Hello Mr Ford-James – I have just finished vigorous testing of your scope mount on two rifles – my precision hunting rifle in .270 Winchester, which is consistent 0.5 MOA shooter. Then I moved to 9.3×62 on my driven hunt rifle, to make sure that your scope mount is able to take a beating of heavier recoil rifle.

I will be posting short video and articles in Slovak and English soon. Long story short, I am amazed. Scope mount is really precision made, lapping was pretty much not needed as after about 5 strokes with my wheeler lapping kit, I saw that contact surface is about 80-85%… AMAZING out of the factory precision!! 🙂

The rifle’s accuracy did not suffer at all. .270 was shooting consistently same size groups, as I am used to. 9.3×62 was not a challenge for your scope mount either. It held on even if I used my hand-loads which are producing about 5500 Joules at the muzzle.. Which is about as much as hottest .300 Win Mag commercial loads. 🙂

It even took a big fall with me on ice today during driven hunt. (I fell down on the rifle with all my weight) I have tested zero and it stayed where it is supposed to be:)

I bought one of your AOP55 adjustable mounts for my Air Arms TX200 and I absolutely love it. After adjusting your mount, I was able to zero my scope with only two or three clicks of adjustment for elevation and windage! What a great product and it holds up to the heavy recoil forces of this spring powered air rifle like a champ!

I bought your one piece mount only having first wasted money on a Chinese copy from another well-known manufacturer that I assumed would be reasonable quality. Big mistake: it would not stay put, kept loosening and scratched the top of my brand new HW80K with its terrible, pointed retaining pin. I was extremely annoyed as you can imagine and wish I had found your product first; the difference in quality is obvious, you get what you pay for although the price was not much higher anyway. Rock solid, whatever else I buy in future by way of air rifles or firearms, I will not get scope mounts from anywhere else.

I used my SP3 Swing out spirit level to great effect whilst using an Accuracy International AW 338. I found it easy to fit and use, and a great addition to counter cant angle and improve accuracy.

Dear Sir, I replaced the mounts on my mtc viper with Sportsmatch scope mounts last week due to crossover issues I was having. I am writing to let you know that I am delighted with the results. At my 3 previous shoots I was averaging 46 out of 60.   Last weekend with the Sportmatch mounts on I experienced no crossover and achieved a pb 57 . Great mounts and one very happy customer. Hi Matthew, Many thanks for your reply. I bought one of the ATP66 for my rimfire, from a dealer in Yorkshire. It arrived today and I fitted it to my 17hmr CZ452. Fantastic mounts and zeroed without having to alter the scope at all, all done using the scope mounts. NOW, if you would only make some for the CZ550 😉 LOL Regards

I have used Sportsmatch mounts ever since I started shooting Air Rifles, some 25 years ago. I have enjoyed continued success in the hunting field and on the range. There’s only ever going to be one choice for me and that’s Sportsmatch UK. It makes total sense to use British mounts, as Britain has the best engineers and metals, this assures me I have total control when shooting, knowing Sportsmatch have my backing. Buy British, buy Sportsmatch.

I’ve been shooting for over 20 years and still have the first pair of Sportsmatch mounts I ever bought. They have been on numerous air rifles and rimfires and are still going strong and holding scopes securely and true. All but one of my rifles has Sportsmatch mounts and I’m now even using weaver mounts from yourselves on my centrefire rifles. You are a brand that I always recommend above all others to people shooting, keep up the good work!

Hi Matthew – Scope Mount is now up and running and working very accurately. Scope optically zeroed and I am achieving consistent half inch groups at 30 yards without using the scope turrets. I am now also avoiding the windage variation at different ranges. Brilliant product. Your reputation for excellent customer service is well founded.

Height of Scope Mount Required

In each product catergory we state a maximum (upto) objective lens diameter dimension. Due to both rifle and scope designs varying this can only be used as a guide. If you are unsure that the height of the Sportsmatch scope mount you have chosen will be sufficient to clear your rifle scopes objective lens from the barrel of your rifle, we suggest (prior to purchase) you check. The way you calculate the clearance is by halving the overall outside diameter of your rifle scopes objective lens and then deducting half the rifle scopes body tube diameter. For scopes with a 1″ inch diameter body tube diameter this would mean deducting 12.7mm, 15mm for scopes with a 30mm diameter body tube and 17mm for 34mm scopes. This dimension then gives the figure comparible with the ‘A’ dimension that is shown below. The amount our ‘A’ dimension is greater than the figure you have calculated is the amount of clearance your scopes objective lens will be clear of your rifles barrel (dont forget to allow around 2mm for the scope covers). Calculating your rifle scopes clearance in this way does assume your dovetail or Picatinny rail is not raised above or below your rifles barrel. Please consider that rifles with grooved receivers such as some models of airgun and .22 rimfire rifle will mean the scope sits lower than a rifle with a raised dovetail or Picatinny base fitted. Something else to consider is that some rifles with a high or adjustable cheek pieces may require high or extra scope mounts so that your eye is in line with the rifle scope and your head is kept in an upright comfortable position.
